Please click here for information regarding the Prince William County High School Specialty Programs for the 2015-16 school year.
Operation Turkey
Operation Turkey is an annual drive to collect non-perishables for the ACTS food bank.  This year the NJHS will sponsor the Operation Turkey food drive at LRMS from October 27-31.  Students are encouraged to bring items for donation to their advisory class during that week. Thank you in advance for helping with this important drive to reduce hunger in our local area.
SOCKTOBER!

Family and Consumer Sciences Club is collecting new socks for people in need in Prince William County. There are two collection bins on the stage in the cafeteria. We will be collecting socks until the end of October! Please help out the people in your community and be a part of SOCKTOBER!
School Spirit Week

This October we would like to support a few important initiatives: Looking towards the Future, Breast Cancer Awareness, Bullying Prevention, Alcohol-free Living, and Wolf Spirit. As a school community all of these things can have an effect on us or someone that we know in some way. It only seems fair to take a day to recognize the importance of having knowledge about each and every one of these initiatives. Please support them next week by wearing your future gear on Monday, pink on Tuesday, black on Wednesday, red on Thursday, and school spirit wear on Friday.

  • Monday, Oct. 20, we are looking towards the future, so wear College, Military or Career shirts
  • Tuesday, Oct. 21, we are wearing Pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness month
  • Wednesday, Oct. 22, wear Black to support blacking out Bullying
  • Thursday, Oct. 23, Red is our color of choice for Red Ribbon week and drug awareness
  • Friday, Oct. 24, pull out LRMS school colors or your wolf shirts to show your school spirit

Requirements for Sports Tryouts

Students who are trying out for a sport for their first time in middle school and their parents must attend a face-to-face training at their respective school. Parents and students who have previously participated in a middle school face-to-face training are eligible to complete the online training to meet the middle school participation requirement. The online training presentation can be accessed on the PWCS website at https://online-concussion.pwcs.edu.

Students trying out for school athletic teams must also submit an annual sports physical dated after May 2, 1014. Please click here for additional important details regarding requirements for sports try-outs.

Concussion Education Training for 2014-15

Student athletes and parents, including all incoming 6th graders and/or anyone new to Prince William County Public Schools, must attend one face-to-face Concussion Education Training session prior to athletic tryouts. Sessions will be held in the cafeteria at LRMS beginning promptly at 7PM on the dates listed below. More information will be published as it becomes available.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the serious nature of the topic, the critical information presented with regard to such injuries, and the importance of seeing the program in its entirety, participants must be on time for the 7PM start of the presentation as the doors will be locked at 7:05PM, and no one will be admitted after the doors close.

~ November 5, 2014
~ January 14, 2015
~ March 18, 2015

Student athletes and parents who have already attended a face-to-face training session in the past, including 7th and 8th graders, are eligible to take this year’s mandatory concussion training online. Click here to start the online training.

Student athletes who complete the Online Concussion Training should print the Completion Certificate and submit it along with a current and completed sports physical to the main office at LRMS prior to athletic tryouts.
