Dress Code Reminder

With the warmer weather quickly approaching, we would like to remind everyone that all shirts must have a defined sleeve and shorts and skirts must be at least finger-tip length. Students wearing inappropriate clothing will be required to change into clothing provided by the school. We encourage our students to "dress to learn" and appreciate your support in our efforts.

Chinn Park Library to Close for Renovation
From May 17 to June 7, Chinn Park Regional Library will be closed as it undergoes renovation. Materials that were borrowed from Chinn Park may be returned to any of the other Prince William Public Library branches (click here for branch locations). Students requiring library resources during this time should also plan to use one of the other branch libraries.

Lake Ridge Middle School is closed to 6th grade transfers for the 2015-16 school year.

Jane's Food Closet

In honor of former LRMS teacher Jane Sills, Lake Ridge Middle School is proud to announce the opening of Jane's Food Closet, a school-based program which will provide non-perishable food and personal products for qualified students and their families. During the school year, donations may be brought to LRMS on the fourth Tuesday of each month, and qualified families may pick up supplies on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month between 3:00 and 4:15 p.m. To find out if you qualify to pick up items, please contact Susan Changes at changesf@pwcs.edu. You may also click here to learn more about Jane's Closet and/or making a financial contribution.
Microsoft Office 365 Student Accounts

When we return from Winter Break, our Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) will be working with each grade level to help students activate and log in to their Office 365 accounts. Students will need to go through the procedure here at school in order to activate their accounts, so unless your child is in a class that has already participated an Office 365 session with Ms. Del Gaudio, you cannot yet activate the student account or download the software. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we roll out the program to our students as quickly and efficiently as possible. For more information about Microsoft Office 365, please visit the Instructional Technology page of the PWCS website.
MyPWCS Mobile App

As publicized in the district-wide announcement for PWCS, "the first generation MyPWCS mobile app is now available to download free from the iTunes App Store (for Apple products) or Android's Play Store. Search for PWCS, MyPWCS Blackboard." You may also click here to access the app in iTunes.

NJHS Peer Tutoring

The National Junior Honor Society is pleased to offer free peer tutoring on most Thursdays after school from 2:55-3:55.  If you wish to be tutored in French, Spanish, math, language arts, science, or social studies, you may sign up on Monday or Tuesday of each week that you plan to participate. You must sign up no later than the end of the school day on Tuesday in order to be tutored on the Thursday of the same week. The sign-up list is posted outside room B-6. Please bring plenty to work on, and ask your teacher for suggestions regarding what to bring, so that you are prepared to work with the tutor for the full hour. After signing up, if you find that you will be unable to attend your tutoring session, please cancel with Mrs. Bevington in room B-6 by the end of the day on Wednesday as a courtesy to your tutor.

LRMS Yearbook & Candid Photos

The LRMS Yearbook wants your candid pictures for possible use in the yearbook. If you attend any LRMS sports, music, club, field trip, or other school community activity and take pictures of the event, we may be able to use them in the yearbook. Please eShare your pictures quickly as we are constantly selecting images to meet deadlines. Provide as much detail as possible, including names and grade levels, for each photo. The more you eShare, the better our coverage can be. To eShare your photos:

~ Go to www.hjeshare.com and enter school code lrmswolves
~ Locate the picture (file) you want to upload
~ Click on the file name to select it, then click "open"
~ To upload more than one file, CTRL-click on each filename
~ You can upload ten files at a time as many times as necessary
~ Click each thumbnail to select it and enter information about the images
~ Click "submit information" when you are done

If you have questions, please contact Ms. (Griffin) Del Gaudio.
